New Canadian Embassy in Cairo

The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) commissioned Wassef Design Group to be the Host Country Consultant for the Construction of the New Chancery. WDG has participated in the design up to the design development phase for architectural, structural engineering, mechanical plumbing, mechanical HVAC, electrical and security works. WDG assisted DFAIT in the evaluation process for the selection of contractors. The construction documents were produced by the Contractor under their stage 1 of their design-built contract. WDG assisted DFAIT in the review of the architectural and engineering design and construction documents. The New Canadian Embassy in Cairo built-up area is 6,000 m2.

WDG took contractual project management responsibility for the New Canadian Embassy in Cairo to ensure that the project meets the most stringent of the Canadian building code and local Egyptian standards, with a priority to health, safety and security, and the use of local materials in addition to Canadian products.
