Tax Authorities Building, Bab El Louk
Wassef Design Group was contracted to provide a design for the remodeling and renovation of the Bab El Louk telephone exchange building to be used as an office building for the Tax Authorities. This design was a real challenge due to the remodeling to a different type of building from industrial to a commercial use. This necessitated structural services to divide double height spaces into two floors in the vertical direction. The assignment included full Architectural and Engineering design and construction supervision services to develop their conceptual design, and produce the contract documents to include Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical working drawings, and edit specifications and bill of quantities.
The total built-up space was 12,000 square meters to include double loaded corridors with offices for top management to clerical level, conference rooms and general administration spaces.
